Can I offer more potent words than I hear in 1 Cor 12:31—13:13, today’s second reading? Here is my favorite part:
Love is patient, love is kind.
It is not jealous, it is not pompous,
It is not inflated, it is not rude,
it does not seek its own interests,
it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
it does not rejoice over wrongdoing
but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails.
Thank you to the parish of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Hong Kong – I’m worried about you! This is the second week in a row in which the pews of your cathedral have been empty because of the pandemic.
Here is the link to the streamed service, for anyone interested in the mass, and of course, for those like me who stand with Hong Kong in any way we can.
